Lantra is committed to recognising and growing talent in in the land-based and environment industries.
We do this by facilitating annual Industry Awards in England and Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, where finalists/winners are provided with continued development opportunities to further grow their skillsets. We also sponsor the Farming Life Awards in Northern Ireland.
Lantra’s annual award programmes recognise the huge contribution made by rising stars in the industry, meaning we can spot those who have the potential to become the next leaders and inspiring figures in the industry.
Winning awards provides learners with industry endorsement helping to give them additional confidence in their role and their career journey.
Designed to celebrate the achievements of individuals, schools, businesses and partnerships, the awards recognise successful trainees of all ages and encourage employers to invest in the next generation of talent, while promoting the many rewarding careers available.
The land-based and aquaculture industries that are the focus of the ALBAS make a substantial contribution to Scotland’s economy, particularly in rural areas. By recognising and celebrating the success of Scotland's top learners, employers, training providers and partners, the awards serve to highlight the dedication and achievements of everyone involved.
The Lantra Cymru Awards scheme, now in its 29th year, rewards the lifelong learning achievements of the many workers who, through their significant skills and abilities, contribute not only to farming but to the wider rural agenda in Wales, our rural economy and to the communities where they live and work.
The awards celebrate the clear commitment to continuous professional development and achievements within the environmental and land-based sectors. The winners are making a significant contribution, not only within their own particular area of working, but to the sustainability and modernisation of Welsh agriculture long term.
