Over 200,000 businesses currently operate in the UK and Ireland warehousing sector, employing a total of 1.7 million people – and this is only expected to increase as internet shopping grows.
Brexit has changed the way some companies deal with warehousing, moving from ‘just in time’ delivery to other methods of managing stock and raw ingredients. As demand for experienced, trained workers grows, we’ve expanded our warehousing and logistics training, partnering with industry to develop high-quality training and joining the Accrediting Bodies Association in November 2021. All our lift truck and MEWP courses are now fully recognised across industry. We’re also working closely with the UK Warehousing Association and the British Industrial Truck Association to resolve the well-publicised shortages of lift truck operatives.
