This course is designed to provide structured and accredited training for anyone involved in using a tree pruning attachment and material grab. It provides the opportunity for candidates to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of safe industry working practices, and competence, in the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of tree pruning attachments and material grabs.

The day is broken down into the following sessions:
- Introduction
- Site inspection and risk assessment
- Pre use inspection and daily maintenance
- Operation – Demonstrates safe access and positioning before carrying out pruning cuts
- Operation – Carries out a range of pruning cuts applying best practice
- Operation – Uses material handling grab effectively to move and load timber products

What will be covered?
By the end of the course, the candidate will:
- Understand and apply safe working practices
- Understand the requirements of LOLER & the Health and Safety at work act
- Select PPE appropriate to the task
- Undertake site and task risk assessments
- Carry out a familiarisation exercise clearly identifying machine safety features
- Conduct pre - usage checks
- Operate the machine safely, and efficiently, adopting safe working practices
- Understands the factors which can impact on stability
- Conduct post - usage checks
- Perform maintenance according to the manufacturer’s schedule
