This programme is designed to provide those wishing to fulfil the role of Temporary Works Supervisor with the necessary skills and knowledge as two stages of their competence requirements.

The programme is divided into 8 sessions delivered in one day; it covers all the requirements as outlined in BS 5975, concentrating specifically on the role and duties of the Temporary Works Supervisor, but also covering the overall management of temporary works, particularly at the stage of implementation.

Who should attend?

Any person 18 or over, working in the construction industry, it is recommended they have at least 3 years experience in a supervisory capacity. 

What will be covered?

Carry out the role of the temporary works supervisor  
Know the roles and responsibilities of others  
Understand the need to manage temporary works  
Be familiar with BS 5975 Code of Practice  
Cooperate with the temporary works coordinator  
Check, inspect and supervise temporary works  
Know when to stop the works  
Explain the 4Cs’: Competence, Control, Communication, Cooperation
