EvoEquine's Advanced Bit Fitting course offers a solid grounding into the art and science of equine bit fitting. This course has been designed to enable learners with a desire to fit equine bits with confidence as a career. The course is in-depth and gives a deeper understanding the world of fitting bits with an understanding of the intrinsic mechanical operation of the bit. 

The finer details

This course is taught by a mixture of theory and practical sessions. On enrolling onto the course, you will receive a welcome email from your own personal tutor. This will include your subject areas unit book. In your own time and pace you can work through the course book completing the sections as you go. On completion of the unit book there is an end of course assignment. When you have submitted this to your tutor you will be given a selection of dates to attend your practical training session and assessment. If you are not attending in person for your practical day, you will be sent a link to the virtual platform where you will have access to the power points with voice overs and videos of each of the practical elements, so you do not miss out. At the end of this tutorial or practical day you will have the two case study’s to complete and submit to your tutor to complete the course in full.

What will be covered?

By the end of the course you should: 
 
•Be able to recognise a well-fitting bridle and an ill-fitting bridle
•Have an understanding of the importance of the horses Anatomy and teeth
•Be able to list the range of horse bits and their uses
•List the importance of the Hyoid and the importance of it being free 
•Be able to record the bit fitting details correctly and give advice as required
•To be confident in assessment of a horse’s mouth conformation and selecting an appropriate horse bit for the horse.
