This course is suitable for learners as a progression from our Introductory Bridle and Bit Fitting course entering the equine sector from the beginning, and for learners that have an established equine background wishing to further study or to enhance their current qualifications and service area. (Equine Physios, Saddle fitters, Bit Fitters, BHS Instructors) 

This course will give you an in-depth understanding and competency of how to fit bridles and bits to horses. We have a vast experience and our teachers are always keen to share their knowledge and improve horse welfare. This is a formal training course for those who are passionate about improving the health, welfare and performance. 

 

 

The finer details

This course is taught by a mixture of theory and practical sessions. On enrolling onto the course, you will receive a welcome email from your own personal tutor. This will include your subject areas unit book. In your own time and pace you can work through the course book completing the sections as you go. On completion of the unit book there is an end of course assignment. When you have submitted this to your tutor you will be given a selection of dates to attend your practical training session and assessment. If you are not attending in person for your practical day you will be sent a link to the virtual platform where you will have access to the power points with voice overs and videos of each of the practical elements so you do not miss out. At the end of this tutorial or practical day you will have the two case study’s to complete and submit to your tutor to complete the course in full.

What will be covered?

By the end of this course you should:

 

•Be able to recognise a well-fitting bridle and bits 
•Have an understanding of the importance of the horses Anatomy and teeth including the effects on the horse’s way of going. 
•Be able to list the range of nosebands, headpieces, bits and their uses 
•Be able to measure and fit bridles and bits correctly  
 
By undertaking this course, you can expect to undergo rigorous training that is focused on the horses anatomy and how the horse is affected by the bit and bridle. Further details regarding the course is available below:
