This course is aimed at anyone employed or thinks of working in any water-related environment. This can be rivers, lakes, ponds, sewage treatment works or even the sea or estuaries.

  • Have a better understanding of personal floatation devices and how to select the type most suitable for the task
  • Understand some common hazards and remedies when using machinery near or in water.
  • Understand the mechanics of drowning, secondary drowning and how the working environment can affect our risk factor
  • Have a good understanding of how to conduct a rescue, administer first aid and casualty aftercare
