About
Mobility scoring can seem to be time consuming, however, if utilised it can allow you to treat lame cows early, saving hours of time treating chronically lame cows, ensuring the health of your cows are maintained.
Lameness affects everything that a cow does on a daily basis. As well as the direct costs – treatment, vets time, extra labour and husbandry, there are also the indirect costs which are not as easy to see – reduced milk yield, reduced body weight, reduced fertility, and premature culling
The finer details
This course is a RoMS - Register Of Mobility Scorers approved course. Mobility scoring has become a commonly performed recording tool for dairy farmers supplying Supermarket contracts. It is a very good and effective method of both evaluating the level of lameness and the progress made on farm to either reduce levels of lameness or maintain a low level.
