The aims of the course are to enhance the calf rearers current knowledge of management, welfare, and disease awareness to realise the potential in producing quality reared calves for both the dairy and beef industry.

With the knowledge and practical skills gained, you will be able to provide appropriate management care to produce strong, healthy, well grown calves.
All aspects of calf management are covered in this course. Mainly focusing on the husbandry of the calf from birth to weaning. Including how to conduct basic first aid on neonatal calves and provide appropriate management to ensure maximum survival rates.  You will be able to describe basic physiological development in calves and outline the key management steps required to produce a healthy well grown calf which is in an optimum condition to be weaned.
