This course will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to install post and strained wire fencing safely, protecting both you and those around you.

This training course has been developed to help you understand how to install post and strained wire fencing safely.
The amount of instruction you will require will depend largely upon your previous experience and sessions will be adapted to meet your needs. Course duration will depend on experience and will be from one to four days.
The training course will consist of theory and practical sessions, followed by assessment. Course sessions include:
- Types of Fence
- How to Install Strained Wire Fencing
- Theory Assessment
- Practical Assessment.
If successful in meeting the required standards assessed, you will be awarded a certificate of competence and a Lantra skills ID card.
In order to ensure you are given the appropriate information and guidance to work efficiently and safely, you must complete the Fencing and Gate Installation Foundation course (FHW06) before moving on to this system specific course.

Who should attend?
This course is for you if you need to become proficient in safely installing post and strained wire fencing and gates.

- Position and securely fix post and strained wire components at specified lines, levels and heights
- Demonstrate how to inspect, repair and post and test strained wire fence systems.
