Who should attend?

All persons who will be required by their employer to work on high-speed roads, running mobile hard shoulder (or non-live lane) operations using an IPV and for protecting and installing static temporary traffic management.

What will be covered?

On completion of this course you will:

  • be aware of the current reference documentation associated with the use of an IPV within temporary traffic management
  • be aware of the specification requirements for an impact protection vehicle
  • be able to demonstrate underpinning knowledge required to drive impact protection vehicles
  • Understand different impact protection vehicle roles, responsibilities and limitations when - Using an IPV for mobile hard shoulder closures; Using an IPV to protect the installation and removal of temporary traffic management; Using an IPV as a convoy control vehicle; Using an IPV when involved in mobile carriageway closure techniques
