The course contains theoretical and practical information about antibiotic use and antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
Topics focused on include farm antibiotic management, responsibilities and best practice in responsible antibiotic use.
The finer details
A minimum of three modules must be completed. This must include two core modules, plus at least one focus module. The focus module is selected from a choice of four.
Upon successful completion, a Lantra certificate of training will be available to download and print.

Who should attend?
This course is designed to train people in the responsible use of antibiotics in beef cattle. This can include farmers, farm workers, and vets.
What will be covered?
There are two mandatory core modules that cover the safe and responsible use of antibiotics in beef cattle in depth.
There are an additional four modules focusing on the following areas:
- Antibiotics in the calving cow
- Antibiotics and lameness in beef cattle
- Responsible use of antibiotics and respiratory disease in beef animals
- Calf septicaemia including navel and joint illness.
You must undertake at least one of these modules in addition to the core modules in order to successfully complete the course.
