Who should attend?
This course has been designed for anyone who operates a suction sweeper, on construction sites, landfills, public highways, industrial sites and at outdoor events.
What will be covered?
By the end of the course the learners will be able to:
- Perform a risk assessment
- Mount and dismount safely
- Understand the purpose and meaning of the instrumentation
- Understand the function of all controls
- Understand the hazards associated with using controls
- Understand the reasons for daily checks
- Start and stop the engine in a safe manner
- Be competent in driving the suction sweeper whilst operating controls
- Leave the suction sweeper in a safe state
- Understand reasons for daily checks
- Perform checking of the lubrication and ensure the unit is in a safe road going state
- Assess the minimum turning circle of the machine
- Empty unit in accordance with company environmental procedures.
