About
Our training will suit you if you want to learn or improve your machine sheep shearing skills. If you don't have the right skills shearing can be difficult, and an incorrect technique can affect sheep welfare and the wool value.
The course will give you the information to carry out machine shearing to industry standards. You'll learn the best handling techniques for both sheep welfare and for your own safety too.
The finer details
Your training will be led by experienced shearers who are qualified with the British Wool Marketing Board (BWMB).
There will be plenty of shearing practice as well as learning how to set up, maintain and look after shearing equipment correctly.
You'll be able to shear sheep to a competent manner unassisted and to the standards required by the BWMB certification scheme. You'll present the wool in a condition ready for sale, knowing the factors which affect its value.
At the end of the course you'll receive a certificate of training.
