About

Our course will refresh your knowledge, skills, and understanding required to work in this specialist field.

The finer details

This course is for Arboricultural ‘competent persons’ as defined by Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER).

This course will typically suit you if you have a responsibility for ‘thorough examination’ in the course of your work. Examples would include: LOLER, examiners, supervisors, and foreman.

Please Note: For persons carrying out a thorough examination they must have appropriate practical and theoretical knowledge and experience of the arboricultural lifting equipment to be thoroughly examined.

Who should attend?

To be on this course, you must have a comprehensive knowledge of modern arboricultural practice, particularly relating to tree climbing and rigging techniques and the associated equipment used in such operations, and have completed a LOLER course.

Typically, you will come from an arboricultural contracting background, but this also includes those involved in associated roles, providing you have the relevant knowledge and experience of arboricultural equipment and the circumstances in which it is commonly used.

What will be covered?

By the end of this course you will have updated your skills and knowledge of thorough examination of arboricultural lifting equipment. You will also be able to demonstrate that you have refreshed your original training, in line with HSE guidance documents.
