Working with chainsaws in the tree canopy is a highly skilled and potentially hazardous job. Our qualification will allow you to demonstrate that you have what it takes to carry out your work safely and expertly.
The qualification will cover such areas as identifying hazards associated with rigging, PPE and Risk assessment.
For professional chainsaw operators working in forestry and arboriculture the industry recommendation is that for ’high risk‘ activities the minimum level of adequacy of training is to a certificate of competence or nationally recognised qualification where assessment is carried out independently of the training. This qualification meets this requirement’

This qualification will assess your competence across a range of skills required to carry out aerial rigging activities.
When you complete your assessments you will receive a card and a certificate to show that you have met the nationally recognised standard.
Quality Assurance policies are in place to ensure that all assessments meet the independent assessment requirements for this sector.

Who should attend?
If you are over the age of 16 and wish to develop knowledge, understanding, and skills, and require proof of competence within your field of expertise, then this course is suitable for you.
You may already be using your skills across a range of trees and timber operations, however, the Qualification aims to ensure you can be confident the minimum standards of good working practices are observed/followed at all times.
This qualification has been devised with the key aim for you to successfully evidence your competence in forestry and arboriculture operations.
Individual learning programmes can be tailored to your needs whilst enabling you to achieve or work towards achieving a national competence qualification and improve your opportunities.
