Who should attend?
This qualification has been developed for individuals entering the arboricultural industry.
The qualification will be suitable for those entering the arboricultural workplace, who need to demonstrate that they have the basic skills and knowledge to work in what is potentially a significantly hazardous industry.
The qualification is designed to enable learners to develop their knowledge, understanding, and skills to support their role(s) and develop their career in arboriculture.
The qualification will enhance the ability of personnel to work safely, effectively and efficiently in the workplace, thus reducing unnecessary risks to themselves and others.
This qualification is available for learners aged 16+.
What will be covered?
The qualification aims to assess the learner’s knowledge and understanding of:
- Identification of common tree and shrub species
- Key legislation and codes of practice relevant to work
- Identification of hazards that may be encountered in the workplace
- The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in the workplace
- Customer service policies and procedures
- How to communicate with customers and other stakeholders
- Health and safety issues relevant to working on site
- Environmental considerations relevant to working on site.
