Being able to climb a tree is essential for many tasks that an Arborist will need to carry out, however things don't always go to plan and when a climber gets stuck in a tree they will need to rescued by someone trained in Aerial rescue.

Our Aerial Tree Rescue course will cover all that you need to know to carry out rescues from a tree.

This is a hands-on course that delivers both practical skills and health and safety guidance as well as demonstrating that you and your employer have completed sufficient training to meet the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER).

The finer details

This is a non-assessed course.

You will receive a Certificate of Attendance once completed.

The course will prepare you to undertake the Lantra Awards Level 3 Award in Aerial Tree Rescue Operations.

Worth noting: Inexperienced operators might need more time to fully master all the elements of our course.

Who should attend?

This training will help you obtain a Licence to Practice as it can proceed to the Lantra Awards Level 3 Award in Aerial Tree Rescue Operations.

Occasional users wishing to obtain a regulated qualification can also use this training to move on to the Lantra Awards Level 3 Award in Aerial Tree Rescue Operations.

This training is ideal for those who work in the following industries: Arboriculture Forestry Woodland Local Authorities Conservation.

Please be aware that to take this course, you must be physically fit and not suffering from vertigo or similar conditions.

You must also be free from medication that could affect your safety. Also, there may be pre-requisite training and/or assessment required before undertaking this training course.

Learners should seek advice from their Lantra Awards training provider.

This course is not appropriate if you are under 16 years of age.

  • Tree climbing equipment
  • Visual tree inspection and anchor points
  • Use of flip-line and climbing irons (spikes)
  • Aerial rescue planning
  • Aerial rescue methods.
