Lantra win the Farm Safety Affiliate Award at NI Farming Awards 2024

Success for Lantra at the NI Farming Awards in recognition of their commitment to promoting farm safety

Last week, on 9th October, the annual Northern Ireland Farming Awards took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Belfast. The awards set out to celebrate innovation, diversification, talent, and entrepreneurship from across the agriculture sector in Northern Ireland. 

 

Lantra were honoured to win the Farm Safety Affiliate Award, which is sponsored by the Health and Safety Executive Northern Ireland (HSENI). The prestigious award sets out to recognise individuals, groups, or organisations who have put health and safety at the forefront of what they do, ensuring that health and safety is maintained to the highest standard. 

 

 

 

Lantra's Commitment to Agricultural Safety

 

 

Speaking at the Awards, shortly after being announced as the winner of the Farm Safety Affiliate Award, Paula Smyth, Lantra’s All-Ireland Director, said: “We were elated to win this award, recognising Lantra’s commitment to farm safety and active efforts to raise awareness, ensuring those working in the agriculture sector do so safely. 

 

“At Lantra, we understand the vital importance of keeping our farming communities safe, and we remain committed to providing top-quality training, guidance, and support to ensure the well-being of all those working in the agricultural sector.”

Lantra is committed to ensuring it provides high-quality training to ensure farms are safe and productive working environments.” 

 

 

In July 2024, as part of the Farm Safety Foundation’s annual ‘Farm Safety Week’, Lantra announced it would be making its farm safety e-learning course, developed in partnership with the Health and Safety Executive, free of charge to those working in Agriculture.

 

The course is still available, free of charge, and can be found on Lantra’s website

 

Lantra will continue to support the Agriculture sector with high-quality training and qualifications to ensure that farm workers are working in safe and productive environments.
