Mid Suffolk & Babergh District Council employee, Simon Attridge, has been presented with the prestigious EasTec UK Ltd ‘Special Achievement Award’ in recognition of his accomplishments.
The dedicated yard assistant, who’s worked at the Stowmarket Creeting Road Depot since 2006, recently completed the Lantra Awards Pedestrian Rotary Mower training course with flying colours. The course was run by approved Lantra Instructor Chris Brown, on behalf of EasTec UK Ltd.
Simon’s parents attended the awards presentation, along with several of the Public Realm Team including Repairs and Maintenance Officer, Paul Chittenden, who thanked EasTec UK Ltd and Lantra for recognising his achievements.
Lantra supplied Simon with a branded polo shirt, jacket, hat and other clothing on completion of the course, which he wore at an additional celebratory event hosted by the Stowmarket Community Hub which Simon attends, run by not-for-profit social enterprise Leading Lives.
This event was recognised by the Mayor of Stowmarket, Cllr Barry Salmon, who commented:
“It’s important as it gives a great feeling of self-esteem. The fact that somebody has taken the time to give a little bit of extra tuition, to help him along, gives a sense of purpose.”
“Now Simon can go out and he can do a job, hold his head up in society and say, I am making a contribution and I have achieved something.”
