Elevating Bridge Inspection Standards
The Bridge Inspector Certification Scheme (BICS) is delighted to announce the launch of its improved certification programme, designed to elevate the standards of bridge inspection across the industry. This exciting development will officially be unveiled at the Bridges 2024 Conference in Glasgow during a special presentation by Niall McKay, BICS Chairperson, on Thursday, November 28, at 2:00 PM.
The improved certification scheme, scheduled to launch in January 2025, introduces advanced training modules, updated standards, and enhanced competencies to meet the evolving challenges of maintaining critical infrastructure. It reflects BICS' unwavering commitment to fostering expertise, safety, and professionalism across the bridge inspection community.
Throughout Day 2 of the conference, representatives from Lantra, the leading awarding organisation for this sector, will be available at the Transport Scotland stand (A20). Attendees are encouraged to meet with Lantra's Head of Industry Partnerships, Stephanie Craig and Project Manager, Danni Fagan-Shaw to gain insights into how the new certification aligns with industry needs and supports the continuous professional development of bridge inspectors.
