Lantra Rural Event Training:
Find out more from the Industry

As event organisers, you hope that nothing goes wrong during the event or exhibition you're running, but it is your responsibility to keep your staff, contractors, volunteers and visitors safe.

Created to support agricultural, sporting, cultural and social event organisers across the UK following lockdown, the rural event training will help you ensure that everyone involved knows how to deal with any situation and what actions to take before, during and after the event:

But don't just take our word for it. We recently heard from attendees at a course carried out by Cathy Ricketts - a Health and Safety Consultant from CJR Safety Associates.

Find out more from attendees about the course:

Usk Show's Nia Osborne on the course:

"I decided to do the course to reinforce my knowledge and boost my confidence, to make sure I was doing the right thing."

The National Sheep Association's Helen Roberts commented:

"It's helped me to get up to date again with health and safety and re-writing the risk assessments and the event management plans."

The new training course will cover every aspect of event organisation and will be of value to all those previously involved who may want to update or refresh their knowledge and skills, as well as individuals getting involved with event management for the first time.

This training course, delivered through a pre-recorded hour-long webinar and five short e-learning modules, which you can undertake at a time and pace to suit you, costs only £30 per applicant. Once completed, you will receive a Lantra Rural Training Event certificate.

The course content will focus on some of the essential issues which should be considered when planning any rural event including:

  • Health & Safety
  • Administration
  • Site management
  • Livestock & equine
  • Marketing
  • Finance.

Delivered by Lantra, in collaboration with the Association of Show and Agricultural Organisations (ASAO), the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society (RWAS) and Welsh Government.
