Coinciding with Forestry Day at the Royal Welsh Show today, Lantra is extremely pleased to announce the release of the Welsh language version of its Forestry and Arboriculture Careers Hub pages.

This project that has seen careers information content homed on the Lantra Careers Hub translated into Welsh has been kindly funded by the Welsh Government and represents a step forward in promoting and supporting careers in forestry and arboriculture.

The project is also a testament to Lantra’s commitment to ensuring that career resources are accessible to all, including Welsh speakers. The initiative also aligns with the Welsh Government’s ambition of increasing the use of the Welsh language across the nation.

Lantra’s career’s hub is a hive of information about the various job roles and career pathways that exist within the land-based and environment sectors. Each sector, including Forestry and Arboriculture, include comprehensive information and detailed insights, as well as details on the qualifications required and other training requirements. The Hub hosts a range of resources such as signposting to support services available to individuals who are considering starting a career within forestry and arboriculture, or those who are looking to progress.

The forestry and arboriculture sector is important to the rural economy in Wales. As part of the project, the Welsh Government commissioned 5 new video case studies showcasing the job roles and opportunities available within the sector, as well as demonstrating the diversity of careers within it. Three of the new case studies are Welsh speakers and all participants work in the sector within Wales.

Commenting on the launch, Lantra’s Director for Wales, Kevin Thomas, said: It’s a great pleasure to be able to launch the Welsh language version of the Foresty and Arboriculture Careers Hub today as part of the Royal Welsh Show, on Forestry Day. This project has enabled us to ensure that this great resource is accessible to Welsh language speakers, and allow us to promote forestry and arboriculture careers, here in Wales.”

“Lantra is grateful to the Welsh Government for providing the funding to make this project a reality. It wouldn’t have been possible without their support.”

The Forestry and Arboriculture section of the Careers Hub is part of Lantra’s broader plan to enhance skills and career opportunities in the land-based and environment sectors. The Welsh language version will be available from today, providing valuable resources to both current and future professionals in the industry.
