Funding support for you and your business

  • A Professional and Career Development Loan is a bank loan learners can use to help pay for work related learning. Learners can borrow from £300 to £10,000 from a participating bank to help pay for their course. Read more...

  • Department for Agriculture and Rural Development - Details of grants and funding available within the agri-environment, fisheries, forestry, rural development and agricultural support - www.dardni.gov.uk/index/grants-and-funding.htm.

 

 

  • Funding is available from the Scottish Government under the Scotland Rural Development Programme (SRDP) Land Management Options (LMO) scheme.  The LMO scheme provides up to £200 towards the costs of training under the Skills Development option. Any land manager with land in Scotland including farmers, crofters and foresters can apply. Find out more here.

 

  • Funding can also be gained from ILA Scotland, a Scottish Government scheme that helps pay for learning for people aged 16 and over who have an income of £22,000 a year or less, or who are on benefits. There are two types of account available: up to £200 for learning something new or brushing up skills, or up to £500 towards the cost of learning if you are studying a part-time higher education or professional qualification course.

 

  • Get ready for work - If you are a young person aged between 16 and 19, not at school, college, employed or in training  you could benefit from the Get Ready for Work scheme. Find out more here.

 

  • The Rural Development Programme (RDP) 2007 - 2013 is aimed at improving the economic, social and environmental conditions in rural areas throughout Northern Ireland.  It brings together a wide range of support schemes and programmes for the farming, forestry and primary processing sectors, rural enterprise and business development, diversification and rural tourism.   Whether you are a farmer, a member of a farm family, community organisations or one of the many people who live or work in the countryside, the RDP may be able to help you. 

 

  • Access up to 80% funding towards your training and development needs with LandSkills in England. If you work in agriculture, horticulture or forestry you could be eligble. Check out to see if LandSkills funding is available in your region now.

 

  • Lantra's Women and Work programme offers funding towards training to help raise recruitment levels in sectors where women are under-represented; increasing earning potential and aiding career progression. Check out if you are eligible now.

 

  • If you are a business working in any of Lantra's 17 industries operating in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly you could be eligible for 100% funding to help move your Business Forward. Find out more here.

 

  • Funding for Eco-Innovation Projects (UK) - The European Commission has launched a 35 million Euro call for eco-innovation projects to be funded under the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (CIP). Funding is available for projects in the area of materials recycling, sustainable building products, the food and drink sector, and green business practices. Priority will be given to applications from small businesses with green products or services that need backing to penetrate markets. In addition clusters of applicants and projects which demonstrate a European added value and have a high potential for market replication are strongly encouraged. Previous projects supported in the past have ranged from recycling tannery and leather waste to produce green fertilizers to using bamboo to clean up waste water.
