EquineSkillsCV - giving grooms the recognition they deserve

The first of its kind, the EquineSkillsCV was developed by Lantra and the British Grooms Association to give grooms a clear path of progression - something there hadn’t been until now.

Working as a groom is a challenging, busy and rewarding occupation. A good groom is highly talented at their job and they need to be – looking after horses requires dedication, attention to detail and an awful lot of hard work. The EquineSkillsCV is a record of achievement that helps grooms recognise their skills and hands on practical experience. It allows them to:

  • Receive the real recognition for their skills and achievements

  • Achieve a recognised job title in line with their experience and ability

  • dentify things they are good at and build on areas where they would like more experience

  • Record your job history and qualifications in a CV style

  • Have a greater confidence to build a career working with horses

Since its launch the EquineSkillsCV has demonstrated worldwide appeal, having sold to Germany, America and Australia as well as throughout the UK.  It establishes four different levels of achievement (Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced and Elite) which has huge benefits for industry as it helps motivate grooms to progress within their role, but also helps employers identify what skills they already have or what level of groom their business needs.
