End Point Assessment

An end point assessment (EPA) is the final stage that a learner must go through before they can complete their apprenticeship.

The EPA is not a qualification, but an independent assessment of an individual apprentice’s standard of work and competence towards the end of their learning. Lantra’s intention is that the EPA will usually be completed in one day and will be conducted by an independent, experienced and qualified third party assessor (IAA) who has not been involved in the learner’s training. The IAA will judge whether the learner has met the assessment criteria established by employers as part of the apprenticeship standard’s assessment plan.

Lantra is looking to offer EPA for the following apprenticeships:

Level 2 Highways Electrical Maintenance and Installation Operative

Level 3 Highway Electrical Services Operative

Learners should not be put forward for EPA until it has been agreed between the apprentice and their employer that the apprentice has acquired the sufficient knowledge, skills and understanding which the role requires.
